Mastercard Developer Zone

October 2015 - January 2016

Project Details
MasterCards' Developer Zone serves as the main portal for enterprise and hobbyist developers to access education on and manage Mastercard APIs that power their products. Through discovery research interviews, we found the current marketing-heavy content experience and convoluted architecture interfered with users finding the right content, thus impacting conversion. Additionally, the logged in experience for managing active APIs was outdated and didn’t map back to natural workflows.

The experience we designed re-envisioned API documentation and management in a simple and intuitive way, making the developer zone a true aid rather than a hinderance for developers as they worked with Mastercards' API products.

Outcome
Work & Co wasn't privy to performance data, however our client conveyed anecdotally their Developer Hackathon events had 0 friction in terms of developers being able to sign up and begin using their APIs.

Role
As Lead UX Designer, my role encompassed concepting, wire framing, discovery research and synthesis, usability testing management/moderation and technical documentation.
